NOTICE ME Foundation (Fundacja „Zobacz Mnie”) in cooperation with ORTOPEDIKA and with support from Polish Arthroscopic Society and European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA) are raising funds to purchase and deliver surgical equipment and medical supplies for Kiev Institiute of Traumatology and Orthopedics and several Ukrainian hospitals taking care of wounded Ukrainian soldiers and civilians.

Foundrising project is a result of cooperation between Center of Specialized Surgery ORTOPEDIKA, Polish Arthroscopic Society and Polish Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and Elbow as a response for urgent need directly from our fellow surgeons from Kiev. During the first week of war we managed to prepare and send external fixators founded by polish manufacturer MEDGAL, which are currently in use.

EUROPEAN ORTHOPEDICS FOR UKRAINE is much more than just financial support. Our action is directly addressing specific needs raised by orthopedic surgeons from Kiev and other Ukrainian cities (currently we have requests from Lviv,  Zaporozheye

Equipment and devices we send are targeted for current needs and prepared by surgeons for surgeons. Currently we raised more than 90 000 euro. Thanks to the rised founds and hard work of all the involved team we managed to buy external fixators, specialized VAC dressings and other equipment necessary for the surgery. Six transports were already sent and reached their destinations in Zaporozheye and Kiev, Vinnica, Rivne and Lviev

Action is coordinated by Andrzej Mioduszewski MD, board member of Polish Arthroscopic Surgery. Logistics is provided by Ortopedika. Meritoric support is provided by Polish Arthroscopic Society and Polish Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and Elbow. Usefulness of planned support in war conditions is verified by Mikołaj Wrobel MD, a veteran from Iraq mission.

Estimated costs of one external fixator is ca. 2,500 euro, so our first batch will cost roughly 125,000 euro (PLN 600,000). Cost of other medical devices and supplies are estimated at 100,000 PLN x 4 hospitals, so for first batch we need to collect ca. PLN 1,000,000 (EUR 208,000).

So far we bought and delivered, among others:

700 haemostatic dressigs

120 Jet lavage sets

50 tracheotomy sets

50 laryngeal mask

70 ACS dressings for chest penetration wound

38 VAC pomps

500 VAS dressing sets

120 neck stabilizers

In cooperation with Imperial College of London we started local production of simple External Fixators for wounded. 

60 sets were already produced.
